The Austin Reuse Coalition is a collective of passionate community members advancing reuse to reduce waste in the Austin area to create a clean and healthy community and awareness is key.

Majority of Austin school meals are served on single-use products
Almost all venues serve drinks in single-use ware
There are currently no city-wide reuse solutions for to-go
Reusables are more effective at reducing climate emissions, boosting local economies, and eliminating waste than recycling or composting
The City of Austin has goal to be zero waste by 2040 in which reusables can play a key role
There are already pioneers making these choices in Austin, and we want to help spread the practices!
With a growing population and limited landfill capacity, it’s crucial that we take proactive steps to create new systems that reduce the amount of materials demanded for us to enjoy our lives.
Reuse is a beautiful solution that cuts down on both the need to produce more cups and serviceware and the need to landfill, recycle, or compost it after it’s been used once.
